Dr. Robin Ellis has been in private practice for over 15 years and, in addition to her experience working with individuals and couples with a variety of issues, she specializes in trauma focused therapy and the use of EMDR. Her emphasis is on a positive, solution-focused approach, to optimize the individuals' strengths and resources. Her professional background includes working for the military with active duty service members for the last five years. She was previously engaged as a guest lecturer at the California Health and Longevity Center, teaching workshops on stress management, making relationships work, and creating change. For over nine years Dr. Ellis worked at Clinicas del Camino Real, a private non-profit health clinic that serves the underserved. As a psychological researcher and writer with the Center for Improvement of Child Caring (CICC) Dr. Ellis was a co-creator of the online screening tool "CICC's Discovery Tool" to assist in early identification of special needs children. She has taught parenting classes at the Glen Robert's Child Study Center and co-led self-esteem and vocational goals groups at California State University, Northridge. With a B.A. in Child Development and PPS (Pupil Personnel Services) Credential in School Counseling she is also experienced at providing parenting strategies to parents of children from birth to young adult. Dr. Ellis received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) and M.A. at the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles.
